Last night I watched the PBS special The 60's Live. One of the performers, Jackie Deshannon, sang one of my favorite songs "What The World Needs Now". In that song she saids we need love sweet love. As I listen I remembered what was going on at that time and how bad it was. Well not much has change , in fact it is worse. I also remember some of the things I learned as little girl in church, two scriptures, John 3:16 & John 17:3. You know those we all know them by heart. Well what the world needs now is to remember the TRUE LOVE that was give us by God and accept it. This was in this months National Geograpic also. This caught my eye because I like an use makeup. It gave very interesting facts: Eye liner back in Egyt was used to make the eyes pop, the same as today, keep a flies away and cut the suns glare. It also has a spiritual aspect as well. Example: A wig stiffend with beewax was a potent sexual symbol that linked the wearer to HATHOR, the goddess of beauty. Green eye paint, or wadju may have invoked Hathor's protection. I often read different magzines,and one of them is The "National Geographic". This months issue touched my heart. The main article is entiled, "Who Murdered the Mountain Gorillas ?" Hummmm, I wondered but what I read bought me to tears ! In the Congo, armed with automatic weapons, killers hunt down and kill Gorilla Families. The Ranger found some shot execution style, in the back of the head: one with her infant still alive clinging to the dead mothers breast. As I read on I remember what the scriptures said would happen to those who ruin the earth. On July 1, at 10 pm. At 1 Corinthians 7:8, The Apostle Paul told married christians that they would have "tribulation in the flesh". What could he have meant? Maybe it would invole , health problems for the couple, their childern or their aging parents. It may also mean,difficulties and heartaches. What ever is intented, the bible foretold that the last days would bring critical times hard to deal with. 1Corinthians 7:8 2 Timiothy 3:1-5 Matthew 24:21
