Nice nuetral view from the bible reader......problem is that some religious people forget to apply these teachings to themselves.....become self-righteous thinking that any thought in thier head is correct because they 'sometimes' act religiously'. They forget they are human and have the same human egos and foibles......egos a big tricky one that trips up folk.  Can't forget that word from the book.....HUMBLE. Being humble leads to other good virtues.

self-righteousness is way off of the humble beat.

I am not against religion, ever though I am not a follower. I think there should be a place for those people to discuss their views. Blogs are fine for some of the inspirational messages, but they do not promote much feedback. I would like to see a topic area for them. Makes for fascinating reading. Religion is the source of so many conflicts, but also the source of some great ideas.

Along these lines, I worked with a non-religious man that decided to read the Bible purely for the experience. I asked him for his impression when he finished. He said it was very dry to read. I asked him if he would be interested in going to war to fight for this book's teachings and principals. He said he could not understand why anyone would do that.

Guess that is all I got. Maybe they will create a topic area for this. I know there would be many posts there, but also many fights and anger and disagreements. Maybe easier to just avoid it altogether? But again, I would like to see it offered, perhaps on a trial basis.
