Yes....and I just read more news today, that the parents are probably going to be charged......because: (1) There was not a lock on the cage (2) The man did not have a license for an exotic snake (3) And....they are going to check the snake out to see....."when the last time the snake had been fed"!!! It's my bet, with all these infractions, that they hardly ever "fed" the snake properly....and of course, the snake thought the little girl was "food"! Good Lord! This gives me "nightmares"!....We can't blame the snake!....It's the parents!.... People like this don't deserve children. It breaks my heart, knowing that little 2-yr. old suffered so much....And yes, if the man had "not woken up at 9AM"....(and isn't that a "little late to wake up when you have small children in the house"??)....that snake would have tried to eat the child.

Daisyboo....After reading this I gotta to AGREE with u ..... I still cannot get over the fact that this snake can break bones!! and it also move fast ...What's more ...... I also noticed they also have another snake !!
I agree they gotta to undy that this snake should NOT be in their house especially with a child there......
They ought to set up a new law for that endangering child with danger animals .
No matter how careless dad is its still tells the fact he was aware that it s danger to have a snake even with his child there . So it makes it a crime I gotta to say u are correct . No excuses !!
I shudders the thought of that poor child was eaten!

Yes, that's what I read earlier about parent's not having a license to begin with for those exotic snakes. I thought the same thing about how children would wake up so early making noises especially at her young age. He should have kept checking on his 2-years old child in the middle of the night, too. How could her father not know anything about the dangers and risks of owning python/boa construction and raising his own child at the same time? What was he thinking? It's ultimately a lifetime tragedy over the loss of his own child to his python. It's disturbing thinking about this when waking up in the morning.

I realized it was the boyfriend of the 2-year old child's mother. It was not her father with loose python. But still the mother should have known it better than that with her boyfriend and the snakes. Both adults were still responsible for the deceased child.
