Are they obsessive of how they look? Maybe they might see some lima beans sticking on them? Maybe they might see some maggots darting out of poops, gagging and drowning to the bottom of toilet seats?

It is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed. I do that to see if there is a problem such as blood, diaherra or whatever. If there is an abnormal discoloration, then I would know what may be caused by something I eat. I do it for the health reasons.
