Old Testament prophets said that the true king would be born from the family of David. While the Jews were slaves in Babylon, they prayed that this true king would come and resuce them.  Later, some of the Jews expected this king to overcome the Roman government and set up a kingdom on earth. But that was not God's plan for His Son, Jesus.
When Jesus was born, wise men came from the east to worship HIm.  They knew that Jesus was the true king. A few days before Jesus was to die, the Jews welcomed Him into the city of Jerusalem. These people shouted, God bless the king of Israel!" (John 12:13b)
In our Bible Reaeding today, John told about the time when Jesus will take His plae as the true king. Verse 16 says, "On his robe and on his leg was written his name: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."  Jesus will rule forever. There willbe eternal peace in His kingdom.
Every day we need to remember that Jesus is the great King of all Kings. We should worship Him, serve Him and obey Him. Thank you, God, for Jesus who is the true
King! ---DC

"Jesus is the One who says that things are true. Now he says, 'Yes, I am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!"

Revelation 22:20a

  PRAYER:  G
od, help me to serve Jesus every day of my life. In Jesus' name.  Amen.
