I have been on this site for about a week now and I have to say that I really enjoy it for the most part. On the other hand there are some members which I will not say names that have made it damn near impossible to feel totally welcomed. I heard about this site through a friend and when I came here I was relieved to see and meet people who are going through some of the same things I am. I have even met some really nice people I know I can be friends with for a very long time.
I am a really nice person and I am nice to everyone. I think it is sad and unfortunate that there are some people here who feel it is neccessary to be rude and sometimes down right mean to new members because you think they are from another site. I have never been on deadmeek or any other deaf social networking site but I was attacked the other day by two females and was called a spy and then I got accused of hitting on one of their "men" because I had added him to my friends list?
Some people should really unplug their computers if you have to be paranoid 24/7 about new people you meet. Not everyone is a bad person or out to get your boyfriend. Its just a shame because I feel if it is happening to me that it must be happening to others and coupld potentially scare members away from wanting to be here and enjoy it like everyone else.
The thing that is strange to me is that these "people" are the same ones who have "I HATE DRAMA, and Starting fights" with people on their profiles. Don't get me wrong, I love this site For all its Flaws and Wonders . I ask that all you who typed into your profiles that you are "free of drama " that you reconsider the veracity of that statement (veracity means truthfulness .) Oddly enough the more broken and black hearted,great at the same time and completely nutty people I have met has been , the higher the likelihood that "drama free" means exactly the opposite. I have heard about the fakes and weirdos people deal with and trust me I feel your pain, BUT you cannot go around and just assume everyone is someone else or a mean person. You will be missing out on a lot of maybe wonderful people and friendships...
