Subject: Honest Deaf Question
Content: Since being on here. I have found out that some of the full deaf people do not talk in the "proper" grammer like books, and magazines. Are deaf people taught this "proper" grammer in schools? How exactlly are deaf people taught to read and write? Is it like hearing students? Another thing, How can a teacher know the reading level of the deaf student? Does the teacher watch the book and also the student at the same time? That sounds hard. When the child points to the words "is" or "the" does he have to sign that word or just skips it when he's reading? I've heard some people being forced to sign those types of words but mainly in just social conversation they just skip them. Thank you
